The paint has barely dried on the 2018 Hyundai Kona and already we’re talking about the highly anticipated electric version. Highly anticipated because Hyundai released range information on the vehicle a few months ago, and it’s impressive.
The Kona EV will have a 240-mile (390 km) 100% electric range, besting, nay, crushing, the new Nissan LEAF, Ford Focus EV, BMW i3, Volkswagen e-Golf and their own Ioniq EV. Further to that is the knowledge that the Kona EV will be motivated by a 150kw electric motor, or in car-speak, a 201-horsepower engine.
This kind of range coupled to this amount of power should make the Kona EV very interesting to drive. And depending on the sticker price, could turn out to be a runaway hit with EV shoppers.
As far as we can tell, the 2018 Hyundai Kona EV should arrive as early as this summer in showrooms.
