Kia announced pricing for its Kia Niro EV fully electric model today.
The 2019 Kia Niro EV price is set at $44,995 when it arrives on the market later this year. The new Niro EV is the same price as the Hyundai Kona EV and more importantly, it will be eligible for a $5,000 rebate from the Canadian government.
Kia chose to announce the Niro EV’s pricing on the same day as the new ZEV Incentives were released. Electric vehicles priced below $45,000 will get a $5,000 discount which can be paired with incentives already offered by provincial governments. That means that buyers in Quebec in British Columbia will be able to stack an extra $8,000 and $5,000 respectively to the price of their Kia Niro EV.
The 2019 Niro EV will be offered in two trims:
- Kia Niro EV EX 2019: 44 995 $
- Kia Niro EV SX Touring 2019: 53 995 $
The Niro EV is powered by a fully electric motor and battery that provides up to 383 kilometers of range. That’s less than the Hyundai Kona EV which has 415 kilometers and which is priced at $45,599.
Despite having less range than the Kona EV, Kia has hit the pricing nail on the head with the new 2019 Kia Niro EV.
