2019 Mazda CX-5 Overview

An overview of the 2019 Mazda CX-5 with our most recent articles, pros and cons, and a range of questions answered.

The 2019 Mazda CX-5 is Mazda Canada’s second best-selling nameplate losing out to the Mazda3 in 2018 by just over 150 units. 2019 will without a doubt see the CX-5 become the number 1 selling Mazda product in the country.

One of the CX-5’s claims to fame is its superb Kodo design language which nearly makes the compact SUV look premium when compared to all of its competition in the segment. In fact, of all SUVs sold in Canada, the Mazda CX-5 landed in 6th position overall, which is quite an accomplishment.

The 2019 Mazda CX-5 is motivated by a standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that provides 187-horsepower and 186 lb.-ft. of torque. New for 2019 is the addition of a turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine the generates no less than 250-horsepower (227 or regular fuel) and a whopping 310 lb.-ft. of torque. This mill enables the CX-5 to be one of the most powerful and fastest in the category.

Another reason that attracts so many consumers to Mazda showrooms is how good to drive the vehicle is. It is without a doubt one of the most dynamic and engaging no matter the selected powertrain.
