- The C8 is such a phenomenon that it will get a two-part documentary.
- Chevrolet releases the C8’s Nürburgring lap times and it’s frighteningly impressive.
- 2019 Was the year of the C8 Corvette, 2020 Will be the year of the C8 Corvette too.
The all-new 2020 C8 Chevrolet Corvette is well on its way to upset the balance in the high-performance automotive force. And it won’t be the last time. The single lap of the Nürburgring in 7:29.9 positioned the C8 Corvette in the heart of a group that includes super star cars like the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, the Ferrari Enzo and 812 Superfast, Porsche Carrera GT, the BMW M4 GTS and many more. All these cars covered the lap between 7:25 and 7:30.
Back in 2017, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 lapped the famed circuit in 7:29.6 while a supercharged C6 Corvette ZR1 did it in 7:26.4. So what are we saying? All this new 2020 C8 Chevrolet Corvette had over the bone-stock car is the affordable and available Z51 Performance Package which includes Brembo brake, performance suspension, exhaust, limited slip differential and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Imagine what a Grand Sport will do. A Z06? How about a ZR1?
Back in 2017, a C7 Corvette Z06 covered the Nürburgring lap in 7:13.9, the fastest recorded time in the List of Nürburgring Nordschleife lap times. And so, it is very conceivable that a hyped-up C8 will drop below the 7-minute mark.
As you can see, we’re nowhere near the end of stories to write on the all-new 2020 C8 Chevrolet Corvette. As well, GM’s deemed the Vette worthy of a two-part documentary. So far, we have a teaser to share.
