2020 Jaguar XE Picture Gallery and Spec Info

One could argue that the XE is the most important model Jaguar currently builds. For 2020, it’s getting some improvements.

The Jaguar XE is so important because it represents the front door to the Jaguar’s lineup for so many consumers who aren’t familiar with the British Automaker. An XE buyer may be in a Jaguar for the very first time, and it has to be an experience that stands out.

The 2020 Jaguar XE takes the current generation and ups the ante in terms of technology, mainly. There are a few exterior tweaks, but you’d have to be an XE expert to quickly notice them. The car’s general visual signature does not change.

Inside, it’s a different story. The current Jaguar XE’s interior was nice, but it wasn’t standing out against its direct German rivals. The new 2020 Jaguar XE does, and it only took an extra screen to reach a new height of luxury and refinement.

Based on the Jaguar i-Pace infotainment system (the Range Rover Velar also models its multimedia display in the same way), the 2020 XE’s system called InControl Touch Pro Duo features two touchscreens that handle various functions. The top 10-inch screen is your standard Jaguar infotainment system while the lower screen features high-resolution displays of the climate controls, mainly.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard and so is something Jaguar calls “Smart Settings”. The latter uses artificial intelligence to adapt to the preferences of the driver, namely adjusting audio, seat, and climate settings accordingly.

We also notice that the rotary gear selector is gone, replaced by a switch taken from the F-Type. Another smart move there.

Other technology upgrades include a wireless charging pad and a new rear view camera mirror for better rear visibility.

Two Available Engines in the 2020 Jaguar XE

Two four-cylinder Ingenium turbocharged engines will power the 2020 XE. The first develops 247 horsepower and gets the XE to 100 km/h in a few ticks over 6.0 seconds. The second has 296 horsepower and cuts the 0 to 100 km/h sprint down to 5.7 seconds.

The first engine will power the 2020 Jaguar XE SE P250 while the second is found under the hood of the R-Dynamic SE P300 version. Starting price for the new XE is set at $49,900 and every model gets all-wheel drive.

The new 2020 Jaguar XE will arrive in dealerships this summer.
