The new Jeep Gladiator attracted a lot of attention when it was unveiled for what is essentially a new version of the Jeep Wrangler.
That said, can you think of a vehicle coming this year that is cooler than the 2020 Jeep Gladiator? Better yet, Jeep’s new mid-size pickup will lead its segment in towing capacity and payload. It wasn’t just built to be pretty.
The new Gladiator will be available in four versions, the Sport, the Sport S, the Overland and the Rubicon. The latter will feature the Wrangler Rubicon’s Disconnecting Front Sway Bar, 33-inch tires, Trailcam, and general off-road capability. Ultimately, many of the features found on the new Jeep Wrangler will be available on the 2020 Gladiator.
Jeep’s new mid-size truck will be able to tow 7,650 pounds (3,470 kg), slightly more than the new 2019 Ford Ranger which up until the 2020 Jeep Gladiator arrives is the towing leader in its segment. Payload is also class-leading with 1,600 pounds (726 kg).
