New Lincoln Corsair set to replace aging MKC at the New York Auto Show.
With one quick teaser video, the 2020 Lincoln Corsair was officially born. Set to debut at the New York Auto Show on April 17th, the new Corsair will replace the aging MKC as Lincoln continues to revitalize its entire lineup.
With the Corsair arriving later this year alongside the brand-new Lincoln Aviator, Lincoln will have a completely redesigned lineup of sport utility vehicles to offer buyers. The Lincoln Navigator has been a huge success and the Nautilus is still fairly modern and competitive in its segment.
Previous spy shots and Lincoln’s teaser video show definite Aviator traits in the new 2020 Lincoln Corsair. Here’s hoping, because Lincoln really has its design language down. The Lincoln MKC’s bland interior should also give way to a brand-new design inside that hopefully will take its cues from the new Aviator, Navigator, and Continental interior designs.
Lincoln hasn’t confirmed any of the following speculation, but we’re hoping to see the Corsair sometime in the fall. When it arrives, it will take on a slew of new entry-level luxury SUVs that include the Cadillac XT4 and Volvo XC40. It will still be based on the brand-new Ford Escape which is expected to debut this week.
Early reports suggest a base 2.0-liter turbocharged engine for the new 2020 Corsair along with an available plug-in hybrid. A 2.3-liter turbo may also be available, but we would be surprised to see three engines in the Corsair lineup.
We will know more when the New York International Auto Show gets underway on April 17th.
