2020 Nissan Frontier U.S. Pricing Announced

  • The 2020 Nissan Frontier starts at $27,885 including freight and delivery charges in the U.S.
  • The Frontier is equipped with an all-new 3.8L V6 good for a class-leading 310 horsepower.
  • Desert Runner and SL trims, 2.5L L4 engine and manual gearbox dropped for 2020.

Back in February, we wrote about the 2020 Nissan Frontier and its all-new powertrain, coming just one year before the small pickup is scheduled to receive a thorough redesign. Now, U.S. pricing has just been announced.

The Frontier is now equipped as standard with a direct-injected, 3.8-litre V6 good for  310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, managed by a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Nissan Frontier is now more powerful than the Chevrolet Colorado, the GMC Canyon, the Jeep Gladiator, the Honda Ridgeline and the Toyota Tacoma in its category.

The new engine replaces both the 261-hp 4.0L V6 and the 152-hp 2.5L four, which were getting long in the tooth and provided dismal fuel economy. The new V6 boasts city/highway/combined fuel economy ratings of 17/23/18 mpg when connected to the 4WD setup, and 18/24/20 mpg in 2WD configuration—gains of 1 or 2 mpg compared to the outgoing V6.

In the United States, the 2020 Nissan Frontier S King Cab 4×2 will start at $26,790, which excludes the $1,095 freight and delivery charges. The SV trim costs $27,670, while opting for the four-wheel drivetrain adds $2,890 to the sticker price.

Meanwhile, the 2020 Nissan Frontier S Crew Cab 4×2 retails from $27,900, while the SV costs $28,800 and $31,410 in short- and long-wheelbase forms, respectively. The S Crew Cab 4×4 variant is listed at $31,290, and the SV 4×4 SWB and LWB boast MSRPs of $31,990 and $32,410. The range-topping Frontier PRO-4X Crew Cab 4×4 goes for $37,490.

The S trim level includes a seven-inch touchscreen, a USB port, Bluetooth phone connectivity and—new for 2020—push-button start, a leather-wrapped shift knob and a tilt steering wheel. The SV gets 16-inch alloy wheels and keyless entry, while a power sunroof is available. The PRO-4X edition also features Bilstein off-road shocks, a locking differential, skid plates, automatic headlights, navigation, rear park sonar, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and a Rockford-Fosgate 10-speaker stereo.

The 2020 Nissan Frontier should soon go on sale, and it’s worth noting that the Desert Runner and SL trim levels as well as the manual transmission are no longer available. The 2019 model in base S King Cab 4×2 configuration with the six-speed manual was listed at $19,290.
