Upcoming Dodge Durango will apparently offer a Hellcat engine
2021 Dodge lineup will be revealed today
UPDATE: Dodge has confirmed the new 2021 Dodge Durango will offer a Hellcat engine. It will reach 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and have a towing capacity of 8,700 pounds. Read more about it here.
Images of an apparent 2021 Dodge Durango Hellcat leaked online a few hours before Dodge is set to reveal its 2021 lineup.
The images were posted on various social media channels and show the a Durango will the SRT emblem on the grille and the Hellcat logo on the fenders. The pics also show a much more aggressive design with deeper air collectors on the hood and wider fenders. The overall style is reminiscent of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and certainly sportier than the current Dodge Durango SRT.
Putting the 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI Hellcat engine in the Durango is a move that’s been rumored to happen for a while now. It’s also something that only Dodge would do and we love it. Dodge’s new 2021 lineup is said to total 8,950 horsepower.
The Hellcat engine delivers 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque in its base form (797 horsepower in Redeye models). It would make the Durango Hellcat the fastest three-row SUV ever built. It would crush even the new XB7 Alpina from BMW off the line.
Numerous other changes are expected in 2021 at Dodge. We could see a new Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye Widebody as well as a new generation of the Dodge Journey. We will know more later today.
