All orders taken, some dealers have allocated vehicles
710 hp SUV does everything fast
What’s quicker than the 700+ hp supercharged Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat’s acceleration? Sales are, as Dodge says that the order books are already full for what will end up as one of the rarest modern SRT models yet.
The books opened in November, and now they’re closed to customers. Dodge announced earlier today that it will build a total of 2,000 2021 Durango SRT Hellcats, but that if you want one and aren’t already on the list then you might be out of luck.
Not entirely out of luck, though, as not every unit was open to customer order. Dodge says “a small number of dealer-allocated units will be available for a limited time.” Meaning you need to find a dealer with one who is willing to part with it.
“The 2021 Durango Hellcat is only a single model-year run, ensuring that it will be a very special, sought-after performance SUV for years to come,” said Dodge brand boss Tim Kuniskis.
The 710 hp, 645 lb-ft three-row SUV gets a 6.2L supercharged Hellcat V8 along with a specially tuned eight-speed automatic and a host of other upgrades that let it cross the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds but still tow best in class at up to 8,700 lbs.
If you want a slightly tamer Durango, the 392 (6.4L) V8 is still available with 475 hp as is the 5.7L, 360 hp Hemi V8. Though buyers of those won’t get a full day of instruction at the Bondurant High Performance Driving School in Arizona.
