The popularity of the 2021 Ford Bronco means the line is growing
Ford believes new orders may be delayed well into 2022
To say that the 2021 Ford Bronco is popular is like saying the Earth is round. Ok, in some families that’s a bad example, but you get the point. There’s a lot of demand for the new Bronco and Ford is already saying buyers may have to be patient.
Speaking with Car&Driver, Ford said that current reservations were still on track for June 2021 delivery, but new orders may trickle all the way into 2022.
Ford opened the order books for the Bronco when it was unveiled on July 13, requiring only $100 down. As expected, the orders pilled up. The initial First Edition model was supposed to be limited to 3,500 units, but Ford doubled that number after seeing how quickly those models went. Well, now all 7,000 First Edition models have been sold.
And the orders are continuing to come in. Ford told C&D that buyers who put down a deposit will be asked to complete their order by December. They will have to visit their Ford dealer to finalize the transaction and that’s when they will know when their Bronco will be delivered.
Ford intends to build models that have been reserved first with stock units coming second. That also means you shouldn’t expect to test drive the Bronco before you buy.
As for the Ford Bronco Sport, things are little less hectic. The first units are expected before the end of the year. Orders will be completed this summer and delivers appear to still be on schedule.
