2021 Polestar 2 Price Set at $69,900 in Canada

New Polestar 2 will compete directly with Tesla Model 3 in terms of range, performance, and price.

  • The 2021 Polestar 2 will start at $69,900 when it arrives in Canada
  • Deliveries to begin in late summer 2020 for reservation holders
  • Four options will be available on the 2021 Polestar 2

The 2021 Polestar 2 introduced back in February 2019 is now just about ready to arrive in Canada. Today, Polestar confirmed a starting price of $69,900 for the new Polestar 2 along with an introductory 0.9% APR on financing. Polestar also says leasing will be available on its new electric five-door fastback starting at $899 per month. No details on downpayment or length were given.

The 2021 Polestar 2 starts at $59,900 in the U.S.

The first deliveries to reservation holders will begin in late summer 2020. For now, the COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t affected Polestar plans. The company is also planning to open Polestar Spaces retail showrooms in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver where buyers will be able to place an order with non-commissioned sales representatives for a new Polestar 1 or 2.

The options available on the 2021 Polestar 2 include:

  • Performance Pack: $6,000 CAD
  • Nappa Leather Interior: $5,000 CAD
  • 20-Inch Alloy Wheels: $1,200 CAD
  • Metallic Paint Colors: $1,200 CAD

“We are proud to offer a premium electric vehicle at such a competitive price – the combination of which we feel has a great opportunity in the Canadian marketplace,” said Hugues Bissonette, Head of Polestar Canada. “Based on the extremely positive reaction from the market, we expect strong sales throughout Canada.”

3 Things You Need To Know About The New Electric Polestar 2

The Polestar 2 delivers 408 horsepower, 487 pound-feet of torque and features a world-first Android-powered infotainment system featuring Google Assistance, Google Maps, and Google Play. It will reach 100 km/h in just under 5,0 seconds.

The Tesla Model 3 competitor offers up to 275 miles or 440 kilometres of range. That’s more than the 402 kilometres offered out of the gate by the Model 3, but less than the Long Range and Performance versions of the Tesla.
