Deliveries will begin this summer.
The 5-door all-electric fastback’s production started a couple of weeks in China and today, the manufacturer announced the formal pricing of its all-new 2021 Polestar 2.
Indeed, the Polestar 2 will start at $59,900 in the United States and should hit showrooms across North America sometime this summer.
“We are quite enthusiastic to announce the U.S. pricing for the Polestar 2,” said Gregor Hembrough, Head of Polestar USA.
A list of four options will be offered to the Polestar 2 buyer:
- Performance Pack: $5,000
- Nappa Leather Interior: $4,000
- 20-Inch Alloy Wheels: $1,200
- Metallic Paint Colors: $1,200
Hembrough added: “The MSRP is lower than we originally targeted and will be extended to all of our current reservation holders. With an online purchase option, lower pricing, considerable tax incentives, and production already underway, the Polestar 2 is well-positioned for a successful entry into the U.S. market.”
The 2021 Polestar 2 is powered by a 78-kWh battery pack pushing 408 hp and 487 lb.-ft. of torque to all the wheels thanks to an electric motor at each axle. The battery allows this new Polestar a range of about 470 km according to WLTP.
The all-new EV is also the first car in the world to feature a built-in infotainment system powered by Android. Things like voice command via the Google Assistant, Google Maps with EV charging support and app downloads via the Google Play Store will all be built-in features.
Production of the 2 started at the Luqiao facility in China on March 24th.
