2021 Toyota Sienna Will Do Without The Fridge And Vacuum Cleaner At First

Among the many novel features included in the 2021 Toyota Sienna, two of them will be put off for a while

  • Supplier problems are to blame.

  • Both items were limited to the Platinum trim.

  • Hybrid-only minivan launches soon.

The all-new 2021 Toyota Sienna actually has many of us at Motor Illustrated somewhat excited. The promise of more space, extra efficiency, and AWD sounds like a combination made in automotive Heaven for parents. Unfortunately for some planning on getting the top trims, they’ll have to do without the fridge and vacuum cleaner.

In all seriousness, although these features make for fun headlines, given that they are, or were, limited to the Sienna Platinum trim in Canada and the US (vacuum optional on Limited), their absence won’t hurt sales. Roadshow spoke to Toyota and got this quote: “Unfortunately, due to a supplier issue, the vacuum and refrigerator features will not be available at launch. Availability is to be determined.”

As far as we’re concerned, we can’t wait to try it out. Only a few days ago, we got the opportunity to drive the all-new 2021 Toyota Venza and essentially think the world of it. We can safely assume that the more spacious and powerful Sienna minivan will be just as good in all respects.
