2022 Acura MDX Type S Priced From $79,000 in Canada

The 355-horsepower 2022 Acura MDX Type S officially enters the high-performance SUV segment


  • With the Ultra Package, it retails for $83,000.

  • It arrives in dealerships across Canada in January 2022.


The new 2022 Acura MDX Type S should please discerning buyers looking to satisfy both the family transportation and performance driving needs.

The Type S will be powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre that puts out 355 horsepower @ 5,500 rpm and 354 lb.-ft. of torque from 1400-5000 rpm. The engine will be mated to a performance-tuned 10-speed automatic transmission and an upgraded Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system. As standard, the Type will feature 21-inch wheels, front 4-piston caliper Brembo brakes, an adaptive air suspension, and more.

Acura MDX Type-S Available Starting in December

For an extra $4,000, the MDX Type S can be fitted with the Ultra Package which includes the following features: an ELS Studio 3D Signature Edition: 25 Speakers, 1000 Watts, LED Illuminated Door Speakers; 16-way Power Front Seats, Quilted Leather seats in all three rows; 9-way Massaging Front Seats, and more.

The new 2022 Acura MDX Type S joins the TLX Type S and NSX Type S in 2021 as the sportiest versions of each model line. The MDX arrives in showrooms next month.
