Upgraded infotainment for Ford’s HD trucks
Comes with new interior colours and exterior package choices for new year
Ford is giving its Super Duty lineup of HD pickups an update for 2022 including a pair of new appearance packages. For the 2022 F-250, F-350, and F-450, you’ll find Sync 4 and a massive new optional infotainment screen to give the Super Duty cabin more modern convenience features.
“Super Duty customers aren’t just working harder these days, they are also working smarter,” said Todd Eckert, Ford Truck Group Marketing manager. “We’re further helping our customers raise their game and get the job done with purposeful technology through the introduction of SYNC 4.”
The landscape-oriented 12-inch center screen and the new Sync 4 software package that comes with it will be standard on Lariat trim and above models of the Ford Super Duty for 2022. It has twice the computing power of the system it replaces and allows the wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as more Sync apps. It has conversational voice control to better understand your interactions with the truck and can better show you points of interest and delays. For those not sold on touchscreens for commonly used features (or when wearing work gloves), conventional physical controls sit below the screen.
New for Lariat is a Sport Appearance Package with body-colour bumpers, mirrors, and grille, plus a chrome exhaust, while the Black Appearance Package with 20-inch black wheels, body-colour front and rear bumpers, and black Ford ovals will come to XLT for 2022.
A new Baja-colour interior for Lariat, Navy Pier and Light Slate interior for Limited, and Atlas Blue exterior paint complete the changes. The 2022 Super Duty trucks will carry on with a choice of engines including a 430 hp 7.3L gas V8 and 6.7L, 475 hp diesel V8 and best-in-class gooseneck and conventional towing.
