New 2022 Hyundai Tucson XRT Trim Gets Rugged Looks

The new Hyundai Tucson XRT looks the part and is offered with FWD or AWD drivetrains


  • It features blacked-out exterior trim.

  • Other visual upgrades include unique stylized wheels.

  • The trim will be called “Urban” in Canada. 


Looks are everything, or nearly. Judging by the number of manufacturers currently introducing new rugged-design packages for their vehicles, this trend is far from over. Hyundai is the latest automaker to offer a trim with a distinct go-anywhere attitude and they’re calling it XRT. It will be available for the 2022 Tucson.

In the US, the Tucson‘s XRT trim will be priced from $32,625 with FWD or $34,125 with AWD. Both prices include the $1,225 destination charges. In the US, the XRT is based on the SEL trim with the Convenience package however without the sunroof. In Canada, it starts out as the Preferred w/Trend Pkg and is priced at $37,199. It is powered by the 187-horsepower 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The XRT trims feature the following:

XRT-exclusive front and rear fascia with rugged detailing

XRT-exclusive prominent side cladding

XRT-exclusive black monotone exterior side mirrors

XRT-exclusive black 19-inch alloy wheels with rugged design

Dark side window surrounds

Approach lighting/Side steps

Black-only interior cloth seating/Black headliner

Roof cross rails/Tow hitch
