The all-new WL 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is currently one of the best all-around midsize SUVs you can. It’s stylish, loaded with technology, ultra-refined, and roomy but the powertrain selection isn’t exactly modern. Enter the 4xe PHEV version.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe’s powertrain combines a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine, an 8-speed transmission, a 400V battery pack, and two electric motors. The total system output is 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft of torque. Jeep states that the 4xe’s estimated combined fuel economy rating will be as low as 4.1 Le/100 km.
“The all-new PHEV Grand Cherokee 4xe, along with the first-ever three-row Grand Cherokee L and all-new two-row Grand Cherokee, represent the best Grand Cherokee lineup ever,” said Jim Morrison, vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “Now with electrified 4xe technology, the Grand Cherokee further strengthens the Jeep brand’s vision of ‘Zero Emission Freedom.”
