The new 2022 Mazda MX-30 EV will arrive this Fall in Quebec and British Columbia in two trims:
2022 Mazda MX-30 GS | $42,150 |
2022 Mazda MX-30 GT | $47,150 |
Mazda MX-30 pricing for Canada does not include $1,950 for freight and PDE.
The 2022 Mazda MX-30 GS will feature the latest generation of Mazda Connect infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats and steering wheel, keyless entry, rear-view camera with rear parking sensors, and an improved i-ACTIVESENSE suite of active safety technologies.
Along with Lane Departure Warning, Attention Alert, forward-sensing Pedestrian Detection, Smart City Brake Support, and radar cruise control with stop and go, the MX-30 also gets blind spot monitoring, lane keeping and rear cross-traffic alert standard.
The 2022 Mazda MX-30 GT will add Blind Spot Assist that can stop the vehicle from changing lanes if a vehicle is detected in the blind spot, as well as Front Cross-Traffic Alert which can detect vehicles approaching from the right or left when moving forward.
Other features of the GT trim include a power moonroof, Bose sound system, 360-degree camera with front parking sensors, memory driver’s seat, and 18-inch.
Both versions of the 2022 Mazda MX-30 feature a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery with 161 kilometres of range total. If you’re thinking that’s not a lot compared to modern EVs, you are absolutely right. Mazda is betting that most buyers don’t need more than that for their daily commute and that the faster charge time will compensate the lack of range compared to other models in this price range.
2022 Mazda MX-30 Charge Times (20% to 80 %)
Level 1 AC 120 V / 15 amp | 13 hours, 40 minutes |
Level 2 AC 240 V / 30 amp | 2 hours, 50 minutes |
Level 3 DC 50 kW fast charger | 36 minutes |
Power is rated at 143 horsepower while the maximum torque is rated at 200 pound-feet. The 2022 Mazda MX-30 will also come with a two-year subscription to Mazda Connected services, giving owners access to a range of functions and vehicle monitoring using a mobile app.
