2022 Nissan 400Z Rendering Shows Off Potential Of Upcoming Z Coupe

  • New Nissan Z car expected in the next 18 months

  • May be called the 400Z

  • Rendering shows how a retro style could work with the next Nissan Z coupe

Although not the real thing, this 2022 Nissan 400Z rendering already has us excited about the upcoming Nissan Z car. The latter has been confirmed in a recent video showing the future Nissan product lineup, and unless something really bad happens to Nissan there will be a next-generation Nissan Z.

That’s what we know. What we don’t know is when it will happen, what it will actually be called, what will power it, and what it will look like. Cue the rumor mill. The 2022 Nissan Z will apparently go into production in September 2021 as one of the last new or updated models to come in Nissan’s new strategy.

As for its name, the 400Z moniker hasn’t been confirmed by Nissan, but it’s the general consensus right now. Power could be derived from the 3.0-litre turbocharged V-6 that powers the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400. That engine delivers 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.

As for the design, well the teaser video showed a distinctive dual boomerang LED design surrounding the headlamps. We also saw that the traditional Z design with the long hood and short rear overhang was preserved. This led FutureCarsNow to render this stunning example of a possible Nissan 400Z. They are calling it a 2021, we will call it a 2022 based on the rumor that production will start at the tail end of 2021. At this point it’s anyone’s guess.

We can’t wait to learn more about the Nissan 400Z. We are sure it will look great and we are sure it will be a ray of sunshine in an otherwise difficult time at Nissan.
