Less drive, less money, more range
More affordable Polestar option now in Canada
The more affordable version of Polestar‘s EV has begun to arrive in Canada. The single-motor long range Polestar 2 has now been delivered at the brand’s Spaces dealers in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver.
With a single motor, the front-drive Polestar 2 offers 231 hp, but, more importantly for EV owners, a Natural Resources Canada range estimate of 435 km on a full charge versus the 401 km offered by the Dual Motor car. By dropping the second motor (and AWD), the car has a lower starting price as well. $49,900 before delivery, and while it doesn’t qualify for the federal incentive, it does qualify for provincial incentives in BC and Quebec.
Right now, the car can be ordered online or through a Polestar specialist at one of the brand’s three locations. The Polestar Spaces in Canada’s three largest cities cover around 85 percent of the EV market. Polestar also offers pickup and delivery for test drives and services within 240 km of any of its stores.
Polestar offers Plus and Pilot packs on the car. The former comes with a mechanical heat pump to help extend the car’s winter range, a panoramic roof, Harman Kardon audio, and WeaveTech vegan upholstery. The Pilot pack adds more driver assistance features like Pilot Assist, adaptive cruise control, and Blind Spot Information System.
