The Popular Subaru Forester compact SUV has been reworked for the 2022 model year
Prices will range from $29,495 to $40,595 in Canada
Seven trim levels will be available
Subaru Canada has just announced pricing for its refreshed 2022 Forester compact SUV. Base price will only be slightly above its 2021 figure.
The Subaru Forester has received a number of modifications for the 2022 model year, most of which are related to its appearance. Indeed, the Forester gains new headlamps, a new grille and modified front and rear bumpers. A revised suspension tuning is also a part of this refresh.
Every 2022 Forester is also equipped with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist, as well as Subaru’s EyeSight collision avoidance system, which will now swerve automatically to prevent an accident in the higher trim levels.
The Base model Forester will start at $29,495 and it will include the same 2.5L boxer 4 cylinder engine that was installed in the previous Forester, AWD, heated seats, LED headlamps and a 6 ½ inch infotainment display with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Convenience version will add 17 inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, a rear spoiler, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, push-button start, dual zone climate controls, a 6.3 inch infotainment screen and automatic emergency braking in reverse, among others, for a price of $33,095.
Next up is the $34,895 Touring version, whose notable features are an 8 inch touch screen, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency swerving manoeuvres, heated steering wheel, reclining rear seatbacks and a power liftgate.
The $36,295 Forester Sport gets a bi-mode AWD system and orange accents on the outside and on the inside, in addition to a polished exhaust tip and 18-inch wheels.
The most awaited version of the 2022 Forester is the new Wilderness trim. This variant is more off-road focussed and many details set it apart from the other Foresters. It receives modifications to its AWD system and the ratios of its CVT gearbox, as well as grippier tires and undercarriage protection plates. Cosmetic details, including copper coloured accents, distinguish it from the other models and so does its towing capacity which reaches 1,360 kg (3000 lbs) the highest of any Forester. It will retail from $38,995.
The Limited’s $39,295 starting price will give buyers access to a GPS navigation system, a 9 speaker Harman Kardon sound system, auto-dimming rear-view mirrors, leather upholstery, rear heated seats and 18-inch alloy wheels.
And finally, the top-of-the-line trim for the 2022 Forester will be called Premium. It will add black and silver bodyside moldings, chrome accents on the exterior and exclusive brown leather to the Limited’s equippement. $40,595 will be asked to drive away with it.
