This is Volvo’s super-urban crossover.
It will be offered with a twin-electric motor setup as standard.
The range is predicted to be 360 km.
The all-new 2022 Volvo C40 is nothing short of a hot-ticket item. Already sold out for the next few months, Volvo’s latest electric vehicle has many urbanites looking forward to this crossover’s promising performance and styling.
In Canada, the new C40 will be offered in one trim only. For $72,600, the Ultimate specification simply includes every available feature in Volvo’s EV catalog. They include the Digital Services Package (4-year subscription) with the Android Operating System, an oversized fixed Panoramic Moonroof, Pilot Assist, a Harman Kardon Premium sound system, and Unique 20″ wheels.
Beneath the 2022 Volvo C40’s floor is a 78-kWh battery. Its fast-charging capabilities mean that a 10 to 80% charge can be achieved in about 33 minutes. The battery pack feeds a pair of electric motors which generate up to 402 horsepower and 486 lb.-ft. of torque. As such, the C40 will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in about 4.7 seconds. On a full charge, the crossover has a projected range of about 360 km pending final EPA certification.
As of today, customers can reserve a C40 with a $500.00 deposit through Volvocars.ca. Production began in Ghent, Belgium this fall, and Volvo expects that the first Canadian customer will get their C40 in the spring of 2022.
