Cadillac’s first EV expected to arrive later this year
U.S. Pre-Orders may also be sold out
The order books for the Cadillac Lyriq opened this morning, and Canadian customers promptly ordered every single one they could get. In just a few hours, the 2023 model year run of the Cadillac electric sold out.
Cadillac announced base pricing for the 2023 Lyriq rear-wheel-drive earlier this week. The 502-km EV has a starting price of $67,698. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in the fall.
Though it priced only the rear-drive model, not the more powerful twin-motor AWD version, orders for the 2023 model year run of both opened at the same time.
Visit Cadillac Canada’s website now and the page says that the car is already sold out for model year 2023. Instead, Cadillac welcomes you to join the waitlist for future model years of the Lyriq EV if you’re interested.
Cadillac had previously opened reservations for the Lyriq last September. The Debut Edition, with a $100 refundable reservation fee, saw all reservations snagged in under 20 minutes. It’s not clear just how many potential owners were on that list.
For U.S. buyers, it’s not clear if the 2023 Lyriq is sold out yet or not. Cadillac’s site in that country allows potential buyers to click through the pre-order link for a $62,990 RWD or $64,990 AWD, but the site does not allow customers to choose a dealer and finalize their order.
