This is for the FWD LX version.
The base price makes it more affordable than its rivals.
It’s also the most efficient.
The new-car market is starving for fuel-efficient and affordable vehicles. The new 2023 Kia Sportage delivers on both fronts and should quickly become a strong seller amongst its electrified compact SUV colleagues.
The new Sportage has only its name and segment in common with the previous SUV. For 2023, Kia’s loaded up the compact SUV with design (too much perhaps…), technology, and an impressive selection of powertrains. One that should prove to be very popular is the hybrid.
Priced from $28,545 for the LX, it not only makes it the most affordable when compared to other hybrids in the segment (Ford Escape Hybrid, Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, Honda CR-V Hybrid, and the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid) but it’s the most efficient to boot.
The base FWD version, according to Green Car Reports, is rated at up to 43 mpg in combined driving besting the next most efficient compact SUV, the front-wheel-drive Escape Hybrid, by 2 mpg.
The Kia Sportage Hybrid will be available in many trims and offer AWD as an option. With four-wheel drive, the Sportage LX will be priced from $30,345 and average a combined 38 mpg.
