The new Z can handle more than 400 horsepower according to Nissan exec.
2023 Nissan Z first drives begin in the next few weeks.
Anticipation grows as sales of the new 2023 Nissan Z are fast approaching. The new Z will do wonders for the Japanese automaker’s image which hasn’t shined quite so bright in the recent past. And a rumored Nismo iteration would brighten Nissan’s star in car enthusiasts’ eyes.
The soon-to-be-driven 2023 Nissan Z is expected to be quite impressive. With 400 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque on tap from its twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, the Z will blow the doors off the old 370Z. But wait, there might be more.
“It can handle more,” Paul Hawson, Nissan’s director of advanced product planning and strategy told The Drive. “[There are] people that want to keep it stock forever—you know some of those people, I have friends like that—and then there are other people that are more like me, that are tuning crazy,” he said.
Hawson could not share more details on the speculated Nismo version of the new Z however he did note that they want to address the Z customer’s needs. Without any doubt, this means more power and some chassis upgrades including brakes and suspension.
