2024 Acura Integra Type S Test Mule Spied

The new Acura Integra is a great driver. This will take it to the next level

  • It will obviously be based on the new Honda Civic Type R.

  • For all intents and purposes, it will be brilliant.

The new Acura Integra was not released without controversy. Despite the criticism, it turned out to be an honest variation of the excellent Honda Civic Si. The next step is the anticipated Type S iteration, and it looks as though Acura’s almost ready to reveal it.

New 2023 Honda Civic Type R is a 315HP Super Hot Hatch

The internet is abuzz with the latest details on the new FL5 2023 Honda Civic Type R. Nearly all specifications have been shared short of track times and pricing, and visuals were released sometime before. It is mostly based on the latter that we can safely agree with the video above, speculating that the Integra Type S is coming.

The most tell-tale sign comes in at about 18 seconds when the test mule’s rear is shown – the visible triple tailpipe layout can only belong to a Type R and given the obvious Integra profile and taillamps, we are looking at the future Integra Type S.

We can thus expect a 315hp boosted K20C1 engine as well as a 6-speed manual transmission sending the power to the front wheels. As we know, the regular Integra can be specified with a continuously variable transmission (unlike the donor Si). The Type R is, like the Si, only offered with a manual which we assume will be the case for the Type S.

We look forward to finding out more about the Integra Type S.
