The SS trim will serve as the nameplate’s top version.
It will be available in the spring of 2023.
A few words on the Chevrolet Blazer: Although it was a promising midsize 5-seater SUV when it launched or re-launched, a few years ago, it has barely made a dent in the segment in Canada. Re-re-launching it as an EV is a near sure-fire to reinvigorate interest in the SUV. And just to be sure everyone’s aware, Chevy’s also going to introduce an SS version.
The updated 2023 Chevrolet Blazer broke cover just over a month ago. The main changes include a revised front facia, LED lights, and a few improvements onboard, namely a new screen. As early as next year, for the 2024 model year, the Blazer will go EV, but we knew that.
The news is that, via Twitter, Chevrolet will simultaneously present an SS version which should mean performance, handling, and an even more aggressive visual presence. The brief teaser video shows very little other than a motorized charge-port door, some black subtle fender flares, larger wheels with “SS” stamped into them, and that’s about it.
