2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV : Production Begins

Almost two and a half years after its official unveiling, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is finally going into production. This was announced by General Motors in a press release.

  • Chevrolet builds the 2024 Silverado EV at the General Motors Factory ZERO in Detroit-Hamtramck, Michigan.
  • The Chevrolet Silverado EV First Edition RST generates an output of 754 horsepower.
  • The 4WT version can drive up to 724 kilometres on a charge.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV is assembled at General Motors’ ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan, USA. No less than $2.2 billion has been invested to produce electric vehicles here.

For the moment, only two versions are available: WT and First Edition RST. The former is designed for commercial use, while the latter is the flagship model. The latter includes the following features: four-wheel steering, adaptive suspension, opening partition between body and cab, Multi-Flex tailgate, 17-inch screen for the infotainment system, 11-inch digital instrumentation and the ability to use Super Cruise technology in towing mode.

 

The manufacturer has announced that other versions will eventually be added.

Some figures to remember

According to estimates by the US Environmental Protection Agency, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV WT can travel up to 724 kilometers on a single charge. The RST version has an estimated range of 708 kilometers.

 

By activating the Wide Open Watts function, the Silverado EV First Edition 2024 delivers a maximum power output of 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque.

 

Towing and load capacities are 10,000 and 1,500 lbs respectively.
