Hummer EV can do 613 km on a charge
2024 X3 model gets more range, on sale this fall
GMC has just announced the Hummer EV will get an even longer range estimate for 2024. The 3X version will top 600 km, and Extreme Off-Road package models will come up just shy.
The company didn’t say why the 2024 GMC Hummer EV would get more range. The battery pack is the same 24-module massive 213 kWh unit as the one in the 2023 model. But the 1,000 horsepower electric pickup will get 42 km more range compared with last year, for a total of 613 km. It’s likely due to software enhancements and optimizations that let the truck make better use of its power.
“For extended road trips, overlanding in remote areas or daily driving, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV 3X Pickup will take you where you need to go, now with more driving range and confidence,” said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer, GMC Hummer EV. “As we expand the limits on our all-electric future, we’re excited to continue improving the range and to take the GMC Hummer EV farther than ever for our customers and their adventures.”
Adding 49 km of range to the Extreme Off-Road Package trucks is even more impressive. That model gets 35-inch mud-terrain tires, a locking front differential, hefty half shafts and underbody armour plating. Despite the rugged rubber and heavy extras, that version of the 2024 Hummer EV will be able to travel up to 577 km on a full charge.
The 2024 GMC Hummer EV 3X goes on sale this fall, with a U.S. price starting from $106,945. Canadian pricing is not yet available.
