The 2024 Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain, which combines luxury with off-road prowess, will be offered in North America, just not in its northmost part.
The 2024 Mercedes E-Class All-Terrain, designed on the new E-Class wagon generation, introduces luxury to off-road versatility.
With distinctive design elements, including heightened ride height and rugged accents, the All-Terrain embodies playful sophistication.
The latest All-Terrain Mercedes-Benz will not be offered in Canada.
Distinctly resembling its E-Class wagon sibling, the 2024 All-Terrain sets itself apart through subtle design cues, including a heightened ride height, dark gray fender flares, and distinctive bumpers. Designed on the foundation of the new E-Class wagon generation, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain is exclusive to the United States market. It stands as the sole E-Class wagon offered in the U.S., while the conventional wagon remains exclusive to Europe.
Scheduled for arrival at U.S. dealerships in 2024, the E-Class All-Terrain will be available solely in the E450 model variant. Its powertrain boasts a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, coupled with by a mild-hybrid system, generating a combined output of 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. This power is delivered through a nine-speed automatic transmission, and the vehicle includes standard 4Matic all-wheel drive. Mercedes claims a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.6 seconds, though this figure is applicable to paved surfaces.
The off-road capabilities of the E-Class All-Terrain are enhanced by standard air suspension (optional in the sedan), which maintains consistent ground clearance regardless of load. At 75 mph in comfort mode, the suspension lowers by 0.6 inches to improve aerodynamics and high-speed agility. Wheel options range from 18-inch standard wheels to 19-inch and 20-inch alternatives.
Inside, the cabin of the E-Class All-Terrain mirrors its sedan counterpart, featuring the advanced MBUX infotainment system. An additional feature is the off-road page, activated in the “Off-Road” setting, providing a 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings and incorporating a transparent hood function for obstacle detection.
Practicality also naturally aligns with the regular E-Class wagon, offering 21.7 cubic feet of cargo space with rear seats up, expandable to 64.6 cubic feet when folded. Rear passenger comfort is increased, with nearly an inch more legroom and elbow space compared to the sedan, and the rear seats feature a 40:20:40 split configuration. While Mercedes has yet to disclose the price, the E-Class All-Terrain is expected to surpass the outgoing model’s $72,400.
