The forthcoming debut of the 2024 Mini Cooper EV and 2024 Countryman EV is slated for September 1. Ahead of this event, Mini has shared a final teaser, offering insights into the upcoming electric models.
The 2024 Mini Cooper EV is built on the Spotlight electric-vehicle-focused platform, designed with a longer wheelbase and wider track compared to its predecessor. Despite these changes, the overall length of the vehicle remains largely consistent at around 3.8 meters (149.6 inches), ensuring a blend of improved interior space and handling dynamics.
The base Cooper E trim is equipped with a 40-kilowatt-hour battery, providing an estimated range of approximately 386 kilometers. The electric powertrain will incorporate a single motor generating 181 horsepower. For those seeking enhanced performance, the Cooper SE variant will feature a 54-kWh battery pack, delivering 215 horsepower. Anticipated starting prices for the Cooper EV in the UK are expected to be around 30,000 pounds, with sales anticipated to begin during the summer of 2024.
Spy photographs hint at a potential development of a John Cooper Works (JCW) variant, which could offer performance-oriented enhancements compared to other trims. However, specific details concerning the JCW variant’s specifications remain undisclosed.
Mini has already unveiled the interior design of the Cooper EV, which showcases a streamlined layout. The circular screen on the dashboard serves a dual purpose as both an infotainment display and an instrument cluster. A head-up display and physical buttons are incorporated into an oval-shaped section on the center stack.
