Nissan has unveiled pricing and details for the 2024 Frontier mid-size pickup truck, arriving at dealers this fall. The lineup expands with the introduction of a throwback Hardbody Edition, paying homage to Nissan’s 1980s compact truck, as well as a new premium SL grade.

The 2024 Frontier has a starting MSRP of $46,998 in Canada for the base SV Crew Cab 4×4 model. At the top end, the range-topping PRO-4X Luxury Crew Cab 4×4 starts at $55,498.

The nostalgic Hardbody Edition is based on the SV Crew Cab 4×4 and retails for $49,998. It features retro design elements like 17-inch heritage-styled wheels, all-terrain tires, black trim pieces, and vintage “4×4” and tailgate decals inspired by the original Nissan Hardbody compact pickup of the 1980s.

New for 2024 is the SL grade, acting as a premium model slotting above the SV. Available only on Crew Cabs, the SL brings LED lighting, leather seats, a 10-speaker Fender audio system and other upscale amenities. Pricing starts at $49,498.

The Frontier continues with a 310-hp 3.8L V6, 9-speed automatic, and choice of 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrains. Maximum towing is rated at 6,260 lbs. The off-road focused PRO-4X features upgrades like Bilstein shocks and an electronic locking rear differential.

Technology highlights include standard Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, available wireless charging, Wi-Fi hotspot capability and an extended 3-year trial of Nissan’s premium connected services package.

Safety equipment spans automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert and Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 suite of driver aids as standard across the range.

The 2024 Frontier competes with other mid-size trucks like the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon and Toyota Tacoma. Nissan is hoping the retro Hardbody flair and a broader range of trim levels will help boost the aging Frontier’s appeal.
