The new GT-R before you’re supposed to see it
Model shows off more carbon, aggressive aero
Official reveal happens on January 12 at 8:00 PM EST
Nissan is getting ready to show off an updated version of the GT-R for 2024. But ahead of the reveal later tonight, some photos of the 2024 GT-R have leaked to Facebook.
The photos were posted to GTR-Registry.com’s Facebook page earlier this morning. They show what appears to be the 2024 version of the R35 Nissan GT-R, or at least some sort of new special edition of the car.
While the new car is still mostly hidden by a cover, we can see some details. Those include a more aggressive rear diffuser along with some much more aggressive rear aero parts. Nissan has also given the new car much more exposed carbon fibre than it had before. This last one is hard to tell for sure, but the GT-R also seems to have a much taller wing hiding under that cover.
The R35 generation Nissan GT-R was first revealed back in 2007 and went on sale the next year. It has seen a few facelifts over the years, notably in 2010 and 2016. Nissan has also boosted the power output of its 3.8L twin-turbo V6, with the figure climbing from 480 hp and 430 lb-ft to 565 hp and 467 lb-ft.
It’s still not clear if the car will see a new generation or not, but Nissan is doing plenty to help keep the model fresh through special editions. The GT-R has also seen some production stoppages of late, including the end of sales in Australia and a 2022 time-out in North America.
