The Ram TRX is about to go extinct
Final Edition limited to 4,000 pickups
The asteroid has landed. Ram has just announced the end of the line for its Ram 1500 TRX off-road dinosaur. The supercharged V8 pickup is going out with a bang, though, with a new Final Edition.
Ram’s 702 hp answer to the Ford Raptor erupted into the car market in 2020. It had that supercharged V8 (don’t call it a Hellcat), a suspension designed for crossing the desert at super-legal speeds, and more attitude than 10 regular pickups.
The 2024 Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition will offer bits you can’t get on other TRX models. Bits like Satin Titanium beadlock-capable wheels and matching badges as well as Patina dashboard and seat stitching with a TRX seat logo to match. Ram has worked up a Final Edition dashboard display graphic and strapped in a center console badge with the truck’s build number. Lastly, there is a special matte carbon fibre weave on the instrument panel, doors, console, and wheel.
Normally optional kit like the 19-speaker stereo, head-up display, and adaptive cruise system will also be standard. Ram will offer the truck in three special new colours, Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue, and Harvest Sunrise, and five standard TRX finishes.
With all of that, the Ram 1500 TRX 6.2L Supercharged V8 – Final Edition will run $150,270 in Canada. Ram will build just 4,000 of these for the world, along with some 2024 non-Final edition trucks. But at the end of 2023, production of the truck, and its 6.2L V8, ends. Forever.
