Toyota teases new TRD Pro suspension
Tacoma getting disc brake rear for first time
Toyota is back with yet another teaser for the upcoming all-new 2024 Tacoma. At this rate they’ll end up showing us the whole thing before it is supposed to be revealed, but here’s your confirmation of a new TRD Pro with Fox shocks. Adjustable ones.
The Facebook post for this one (Toyota is one of the many automakers who stopped using Twitter after it was purchased by the competition) says only that details will be “coming soon” for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. But we can see plenty.
Fox Shocks are nothing new for the TRD Pro. Toyota has been using internal bypass versions of the high-end dampers for quite some time. These ones, though, are better. See that QS3 text at the bottom of the badge sticker? That means Quick Switch 3, which is what Fox calls its compression-adjustable shocks.
Yes, that means you’ll be able to adjust your Taco’s suspension to make it a little firmer or a little softer as needed. You can see the adjuster knob hiding underneath that steering rack boot. On a related note, is that boot already leaking?
There’s one more new feature in store for the TRD Pro Tacoma, and possibly the rest of the Tacoma lineup. No, it’s not the black fender flares or the TRD wheels. It is what is inside.
That’s right, there are disc brakes on the back of this Tacoma. Despite being a 2023 model, the current Tacoma still has drum brakes on the back. But not for long.
When will we finally see the whole truck? We’re expecting it in May, but we’re still waiting for confirmation. Until then, expect a new tease every Taco Tuesday.
