Paying homage to the legendary AE86 Sprinter Trueno, the Trueno edition of the Toyota GR86 2024 stands out in particular for its styling, as can be seen by taking a look at the photos. It features a black hood, black decorative stripes, badges, a crest and exclusive 18-inch metallic-finish wheels. High-performance Brembo brakes and Sachs shock absorbers are also fitted to enhance the car’s sportiness and honor its ancestor. Only 50 units of the GR86 2024 Trueno Edition will be produced in Canada.

Also new for 2024, manual transmission models will be entitled to the Active Safety Suite. Previously, this was reserved for models with automatic transmissions. This safety package includes a stereo camera to monitor the road ahead. It also includes the following functions: pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane departure warning, preceding vehicle start-up warning and automatic high beam.
For 2024, the Toyota GR86 is mechanically unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated flat-six engine. It develops 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic gearbox with the same number of gears.

The price of the Toyota GR86 2024 is slightly higher than that of the previous model year. Its base price has risen from $31,490 to $32,350, an increase of $760.
For 2024, the following versions are available: GR86 MT ($32,350), GR86 AT ($34,350), GR86 Premium MT ($35,350), GR86 Premium AT ($37,350) and GR86 Edition TRUENO MT ($39,150).
The Toyota GR86 2024 is part of the Japanese manufacturer’s Gazoo Racing sub-family, which also includes the GR Supra 2024 and GR Corolla 2024.
