Toyota adds Nightshade trim to Sequoia
This year’s TRD Pro is called Terra
For 2024, the Toyota Sequoia SUV is getting a new trim grade and some new paint. The Nightshade model is new to the line, while Terra is the name given to this year’s TRD Pro grade special colour.
The Toyota Sequoia is only a couple of years old, so we weren’t expecting big changes. Limited Nightshade, the new trim, is based on the TRD Off Road but adds TRD Sport 20-inch alloys with a black finish and a load of other dark trim including a semi-gloss black grille, black fender flares, black roof rack, and gloss black door trim. You get the idea. It also comes with ventilated seats, panoramic camera views, and 14-inch touchscreen in place of the base 8.0-inch.
TRD Pro adds Terra as this year’s special colour to the list of off-road modes that includes a 1.1-inch front lift, Fox shocks, and loads of TRD parts.
Toyota’s 2024 Sequoia Platinum grade gives you the option of adding power-extending tow mirrors for drivers who tow. If you don’t, you can stick with a more conventional mirror.
The 2024 Sequoia gets a higher price in Canada, up $2,910 to start at $78,960 before freight and fees. The new Nightshade trim starts at $81,790, while the tow mirrors add $280 to the $91,670 Platinum.
Just like last year, there is only one engine. A 3.5L twin-turbo V6 with a hybrid system that delivers 427 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic helps the Sequoia earn a 9,000 lb tow rating.
Toyota says the 2024 Sequoia is on sale now at dealers across the country.
