Ford pays homage to the original Stroppe Baja Bronco from the 1960s and 1970s with the 2025 Bronco Stroppe Special Edition. This unique Bronco is designed to honour its predecessor’s desert-racing spirit while offering modern off-road capabilities.
The 2025 Bronco Stroppe Special Edition draws its name and inspiration from Bill Stroppe, a pioneering figure in off-road racing. Stroppe’s modifications to the original Bronco helped secure the vehicle’s place in history, including the only outright win by a stock 4×4 at the Baja 1000 in 1969. Stroppe’s contributions to Ford’s racing legacy continued with partnerships like his collaboration with racing legend Parnelli Jones.
Ford has sought to rekindle the Stroppe legacy in recent years, starting with the Bronco R’s return to the Baja 1000 in 2020. The 2025 Bronco Stroppe Special Edition is the latest model to carry forward this legacy, built to deliver high-performance off-road capability for modern enthusiasts.
The new Stroppe Special Edition is exclusively available as a two-door model, replacing the Wildtrak in the Bronco lineup. It comes equipped with a 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6 engine, delivering the power needed for demanding off-road adventures. Ford has included Fox Internal Bypass Dampers to enhance desert-running performance, designed for improved control and stability during high-speed manoeuvres.
Additional performance features include Baja G.O.A.T. (Go Over Any Terrain) Mode, High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (HOSS) 3.0, and a Stabilizer Bar Disconnect. These systems work together for impressive manoeuvrability on rugged terrain, while the 35-inch Goodyear Territory RT tyres ensure traction on even the most challenging surfaces.
In keeping with its heritage, the 2025 Bronco Stroppe Special Edition features a modern take on the original Calypso Coral, Wimbledon White, and Astra Blue livery of the original Baja Broncos. For the first time, Ford has introduced Code Orange accents outside of the Raptor lineup, paired with Oxford White on the body and an Atlas Blue painted hardtop.
The design also includes practical features aimed at off-road functionality, such as a matte black hood to reduce glare in bright desert conditions, squared-off high-clearance fenders, and beadlock-capable wheels. Additional exterior details include a Frozen White grille, Code Orange tow hooks, and “Stroppe Special Edition” branding on the fenders.
Inside, the white instrument mid-panel nods to the Bronco Heritage, while Code Orange accents appear throughout the cabin. These accents can be found on the “Bronco” wordmark on the dash, the G.O.A.T. mode dial, and contrast stitching on the seats.
The Stroppe Special Edition badge on the centre console is unique to this special edition, adding an exclusive touch to the interior. These features reinforce the vehicle’s tribute to its historic roots while maintaining modern comfort and convenience.
