Optiq gains rear-wheel-drive version with 315 hp and revised AWD system for 2026.
All 2026 Optiq models feature Tesla-compatible NACS charging ports as standard equipment.
New Optiq-V variant offers 519 hp, 443 km range, and 0–96 km/h in 3.5 seconds.
Cadillac has announced a series of updates to the Optiq electric crossover for 2026, adding an entry-level rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant, significantly more power across the lineup, and Tesla-compatible charging, and a new high-performance Optiq-V version.
The 2026 Optiq will offer a new RWD model equipped with a single electric motor delivering 315 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. This new configuration joins the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant, which sees its output increase from 300 to 440 horsepower and from 354 to 498 lb-ft of torque.
Sitting at the top of the range, Cadillac recently introduced the Optiq-V, featuring 519 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. It includes standard AWD, summer performance tires, Brembo front callipers, carbon fibre trim, and Cadillac’s Velocity Max mode, which enables 0–96 km/h acceleration in a claimed 3.5 seconds.
All 2026 Optiq models will feature a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, giving owners access to more than 21,500 Tesla Superchargers across North America. The battery pack remains unchanged at 85 kWh. The estimated range is 482 kilometres for the standard models and 443 kilometres for the Optiq-V. The Optiq can add approximately 112 kilometres of range in 10 minutes using a DC fast-charger, according to the manufacturer.
Technology updates include Vision Enhanced Parking, which uses cameras and radar sensors to improve parking precision. The latest version of Super Cruise adds Google Maps integration and automatic lane changes. An upgraded adaptive cruise control system is also standard.
The Optiq is Cadillac’s smallest electric model, positioned below the Lyriq, Vistiq, and Escalade IQ, and is set in some ways to replace the recently cancelled XT4.
The 2026 Optiq will be assembled in Mexico, alongside the Chevrolet Equinox EV. This manufacturing location allows Canadian-bound models to avoid countertariffs on U.S.-built electric vehicles. Pricing for the 2026 Optiq and Optiq-V has not been announced.
