Hybrid 3.5L V6 delivers 457 hp, 583 lb-ft torque
Three trims will be available: VX, ZX, GR SPORT
Launches in select Eastern European markets January 2026
Toyota will soon launch the hybrid version of its Land Cruiser 300 Series in select Eastern European countries. No word if it will be offered in North America.
The new variant is the first hybrid model in the 300 Series lineup and becomes the most powerful Land Cruiser produced to date, delivering 457 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque. Incidentally, this is the Lexus LX 700h’s mill.
The powertrain combines a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 (actual spec is a 3.445L, which explains the 3.4L (NA) and 3.5L identifiers) with a single electric motor placed between the engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid system produces a combined output of 457 hp and 583 lb-ft, offering a 40% improvement in throttle response over the non-hybrid 3.3-litre V6 engine (not available in North America). It also allows for low-speed EV driving up to 30 km/h, powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery.
To preserve the Land Cruiser’s off-road capabilities, the battery is enclosed in a waterproof housing, maintaining the vehicle’s 700 mm wading depth. Electric power steering is also included to improve control across varying terrains.

Off-road features standard on the 300 Hybrid include Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, Downhill Assist Control, and the Multi-Terrain Monitor. These systems are carried over from previous models to ensure consistent off-road performance.
The Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid will be offered in three trim levels: VX, ZX, and GR SPORT. All versions feature a five-seat layout. The VX model includes 18-inch alloy wheels, full LED lighting, a 14-speaker JBL audio system, dual 12.3-inch displays, and four-zone air conditioning.
2025 Toyota Land Cruiser Review: A Legend Returns, and It’s a Little Shy
The ZX variant adds features such as Adaptive Variable Suspension, a five-mode drive selector, a head-up display, and a rear limited-slip differential. It also includes an aero body kit and hands-free tailgate operation.
The GR SPORT trim enhances off-road capability with Toyota’s e-KDSS suspension system, which can disengage anti-roll bars to increase wheel articulation. It also features GR-specific exterior styling and badging.
Toyota has not disclosed the specific countries that will receive the model at launch, though the 300 Series has previously been offered in markets such as Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. The hybrid version is also expected to launch in Australia in the first half of 2026. Availability in Japan may follow, depending on future updates.

In Canada and the U.S., the Land Cruiser is powered by a turbocharged 2.4L 4-cylinder engine with pricing starting at nearly $75,000. The Lexus GX, the other J250, features the turbocharged 3.4L V6 without hybrid assist, and it’s priced from about $91,000. Furthermore, the Lexus LX, our J300, starts at an eye-watering $133,000. This model/trim/pricing structure suggests that there’s little room for a Land Cruiser J300 hybrid. Having said that, a Lexus GX 700h, priced from $110,000, could work…
In short, the new 2026 Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid will not come to our shores.
