A Fresh Face, a Stronger Identity
Since its Canadian debut in 2023, the Nissan Ariya had a singular style that was distinctly Nissan’s own. For 2027, Nissan isn’t reinventing the formula — it’s refining it in a very evolutionary way. The action is essentially at the front end, which receives a body-colour panel and the V-Motion signature. Revisited, the V-Motion approach follows in the LEAF’s footsteps and gives the Ariya an even more assertive presence.

New 19- and 20-inch aluminium and resin wheels also join the lineup. Nissan offers a new Plasma Green exterior colour (inspired by natural light phenomena, likely the Northern Lights). According to Nissan, with this styling progression, the crossover plays in a more premium league without betraying its minimalist DNA inspired by Japanese Futurism.
At the rear, the automaker leaves things untouched. The signature full-width taillight is carried over.
More Efficient Charging — But Still No Power Boost
This is where the 2027 Ariya truly makes its mark. The automaker integrates a NACS (North American Charging Standard) port on the passenger-side fender, opening the doors to Tesla’s vast Supercharger network. Paired with a DC fast charging speed of 130 kW. On this point, Nissan should have taken advantage of the model update to raise the charging power. At only 130 kW, it is one of the lowest figures in the segment.

Set up once in the MaNISSAN app, it automatically initiates charging as soon as the cable is plugged into a compatible station — no app to open, no payment card needed. A simplicity of use that echoes what Apple accomplished with the iPhone: eliminating friction to leave only the essential.
Additionally, the 7 kW bidirectional onboard charger opens the door to the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, allowing external devices to be powered with up to 1,500 W while the vehicle is parked. This feature can be handy while camping or during a power outage: the Ariya transforms into a mobile generator.
Google on the Dashboard, AI on the Road
Inside, there are no major aesthetic changes per se, but the redesigned centre console gains 3.2 litres of additional storage space and integrates a 15 W wireless charger. As a result, Nissan considers the Ariya more practical and functional.

Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google ecosystem run directly in the vehicle’s system. The voice command “Hey Google, take me to [destination]” not only triggers navigation but automatically plans charge stops based on the real-time battery level. Better yet: as the vehicle approaches a charging station, it pre-conditions the battery to maximize charging speed.
The MaNISSAN app completes the picture: battery level monitoring, charge session management, remote climate control, tire pressure check. A coherent digital ecosystem that allows owners to always know the status of their vehicle.
Revised Suspension and Availability
The Ariya is already known for the suppleness of its suspension, and for 2027 it benefits from revised suspension tuning. Nissan promises better stability and fewer vibrations on long trips.
The 2027 Ariya will be available at Canadian dealerships starting in early fall. Pricing will be announced later, closer to its introduction. It is worth noting that the Ariya is now exclusive to Canada — the model is no longer offered in the United States.
