New Woodland Edition pairs a 245-hp hybrid powertrain with electronic all-wheel drive.
Taller springs and knobbier tires increase ground clearance by 12 mm.
Canadian deliveries begin later in 2026, with pricing to come.
Matte-black 18-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and an extra 12 mm of ground clearance distinguish the new 2027 Toyota Grand Highlander Woodland Edition. Toyota’s mild-rugged trim has proven popular on several of its other models and should do well for Toyota’s increasingly popular large midsize SUV.

The exterior treatment also includes black trim, roof rails and crossbars. Inside, Toyota replaces the conventional second-row console with a removable box that functions as a cooler. It can carry as many as six 355-ml cans. Other niceties include a 1,500-watt outlet behind the centre console to power additional equipment, while the cargo compartment gains enhanced lighting and a Woodland-branded tray with adjustable pop-up dividers.
Toyota will position the Woodland Edition between the XLE and Limited grades in Canada. The model seats seven passengers and comes exclusively with the Grand Highlander’s conventional hybrid powertrain.

Its 2.5L hybrid system produces a combined 245 hp and operates with electronic on-demand AWD. Toyota estimates fuel consumption at 7.0 L/100 km combined. Towing capacity stands at 1,588 kg, the same rating assigned to the other non-MAX hybrid Grand Highlander models.
The rest of the lineup also receives several updates for 2027. Standard equipment throughout the lineup continues to include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, seven USB-C ports and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Depending on the grade, additional features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, JBL audio, a panoramic-view monitor and a head-up display.

XLE models equipped with either the gasoline or hybrid powertrain adopt new 18-inch wheels with a dark grey finish. XLE and Limited carry on with the 265-hp turbocharged 2.4L gasoline engine rated at between 10.0 L and 10.7 L/100 km.
At the top of the range, the 362-hp Hybrid MAX Platinum receives a darker exterior treatment. Black finishes replace the previous trim on its grille mesh, hood, roof rails, window surrounds, mirror caps and shark-fin antenna.
Toyota expects the 2027 Grand Highlander to begin arriving at Canadian dealerships before the end of 2026. Canadian pricing will be released closer to the vehicle’s on-sale date.
