Furthermore, its ground clearance hasn’t been increased over other trim levels. If you want a Honda SUV with actual off-road credentials, the new Passport TrailSport will better fit your needs.

3- How does the driving experience compare to other CR-V Hybrids?

On road is where the 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport shines. Indeed, the all-terrain tires used on this model improve the ride quality over rough roads by providing slightly more cushioning on impacts than the tires fitted to other CR-V Hybrid models. While the suspension is by no means soft, this is enough to make the TrailSport more pleasant to drive on broken pavement while not sacrificing the SUV’s solid handling caracteristics. In my opinion, the TrailSport offers the best compromise between comfort and dynamism in the CR-V lineup. As in other Hybrid Honda models, the powertrain of the CR-V TrailSport proves smooth and responsive, with imperceptible transitions between gasoline and electric power. While the 204 horsepower output seems a bit weak on paper, the electric motors’ instant torque makes for confident acceleration and passing abilities in everyday driving. The grippier tires also don’t create much more road noise than the ones fitted to other CR-Vs, which means there isn’t really anything to compromise when choosing the TrailSport over another.

As mentioned above, the 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport doesn’t bring much more in terms of capabilities compared to other CR-V trims. That doesn’t mean this model lacks in practicality, however, as all 2026 CR-Vs figure among the most practical models in their class. Indeed, the CR-V benefits from a very large cargo compartment that can hold 1,028 litres of cargo behind the rear seats and 2,030 litres behind the front seats. In both cases, this is significantly more than most other compact SUVs on the market. In addition, the CR-V offers lots of passenger space front and rear, and the rear doors open to 90-degrees, making it easier to enter and exit while also facilitating the installation and removal of child seats. Since user-friendliness is another form of practicality, let’s also point out that the infotainment system in the 2026 CR-V is one of the easiest to understand in the industry, thanks to clear menus and customizable shortcuts.
