Chrysler confirms its electric minivan will retain the Pacifica nameplate for consumer recognition.
Flexible interior features include reimagined Stow ‘N Go seating and creative storage solutions.
Design cues for the EV minivan will follow the Halcyon concept, emphasizing a futuristic approach.
Chrysler has officially shared that its upcoming electric minivan will carry the Pacifica nameplate. Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell confirmed the decision at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show, citing strong consumer recognition and market equity associated with the Pacifica brand.

The electric Pacifica’s design will take inspiration from Chrysler’s Halcyon concept revealed earlier this year, moving away from the design cues seen in the Airflow electric SUV concept. Feuell described the new design approach as “modern” and “futuristic.”
A significant focus of the electric Pacifica will be its flexible interior, which Chrysler aims to make more versatile than competitors like the VW ID.Buzz. Feuell highlighted the challenges electric powertrains bring to rethinking the automaker’s patented Stow ‘N Go seating system. Among the solutions being explored are forward-sliding front seats to create under-seat storage for second-row seating and side-to-side movement of the second-row seats on rails.
Chrysler has involved suppliers in discussions to evaluate the feasibility of these innovations. Although final configurations have yet to be confirmed, the company is tailoring the design to accommodate various use cases, from family outings and tailgating to camping and cargo transport.
Despite the revelation, some details about the Pacifica lineup’s future remain unclear. Feuell declined to confirm whether the Pacifica Hybrid plug-in model would coexist with the fully electric version or if a range-extended variant, like the Ram Charger EREV, might join the lineup.
“There’s so much equity in the market, consumers have a favorable opinion about Pacifica and very high awareness. I see no reason at this point to change the name,” Feuell said.
The electric Pacifica will follow a refresh of the existing lineup, scheduled for 2026. The updated design is expected to debut ahead of the EV variant, which is anticipated to launch in 2027.
