Genesis reapplies the G90 platform as a long-roof Magma concept with flagship luxury positioning.
Magma branding shows what it can do beyond SUVs through a wagon concept with bespoke design potential.
Genesis highlights alternative body styles as part of its future performance and luxury strategy.
Genesis is using the G90 Wingback Concept to make a larger point about cars: This is where premium high-performance needs to go. At the very least, this is where the Magma performance program could go next.

Shown again and more enticing than ever at the 2026 New York Auto Show after its earlier reveal in December 2025, the concept applies Genesis’ high-performance design language to a flagship luxury wagon rather than another SUV.
The project arrives as Genesis marks its 10th anniversary and introduces Magma as a defining part of its next phase. Alongside the GV60 Magma production model, the G90 Wingback Concept serves as a seriously disconcerting design study for how the Korean luxury brand could, no, should extend its identity across multiple vehicle types. Or just wagons.

Genesis says the concept is built on an unmodified G90 platform. As such, it keeps the sedan’s 3.2-metre wheelbase and overall length of 5.1 metres but replaces the traditional trunk with a tailgate and a sharply angled rear window. That change changes everything, as the long roof it creates evokes a grand tourer silhouette so attractive that Genesis cannot help but build it.
The body receives a substantial visual overhaul, on top of its top. Genesis intensifies the familiar G90 sedan cues, including the Crest Grille, Two-Line headlamps and parabolic side character line. The front fascia adds larger lower air intakes and Magma badging, while flared wheel arches and 22-inch wheels reinforce the lower, wider stance. Though the noted dimensions are substantial, the Wingback could be 6 meters long by 2.5 meters wide, and barely more than a meter high on paper, and we’d believe it. Then, at the rear, the concept uses a twin-spoiler layout and a performance-oriented diffuser treatment that completes what is arguably the sexiest car on the Jacob Javits’s show floor.

Inside, Genesis keeps the G90’s luxury-first layout but layers in Magma-specific details. The cabin features quilted Chamude seating and trim, Alcantara, green contrast stitching, embroidered Magma logos and matching accents across the steering wheel, dashboard and centre console.
The concept’s deep green exterior finish puts restraint and fury on a collision course with our hearts. Genesis still has not released performance specifications for the G90 Wingback Concept. Still, we need to believe the company will not simply leave it as a styling exercise.
