New Nissan GT-R Revealed Tomorrow

A new Nissan GT-R will be revealed tomorrow but thoughts are that it will not be an all-new R36 GT-R

  • The big event happens at 2:30 pm JST or 1:30 am EST.

  • It’s a new Japan-market model.

The current Nissan GT-R R35 car is one of the oldest ongoing production cars in the industry. Launched for the 2008 model year, little has changed since other than power boosts and numerous special editions. Given the short lead-time to this unveil, we believe it to be a new perhaps final edition for the aging supercar.

All 300 2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo Sold Out

Despite its age, the R35 Nissan GT-R remains a monster pilar in the ultra-niche supercar segment. On top of being relatively affordable at just over $130,000 in Canada, its incredible 565-horsepower 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 and speed still make it, to this day, one of the quickest cars on four wheels.

Most recently, Nissan introduced the 2022 GT-R, the GT-R50, and the 50th Anniversary Edition, among others, all of which were special in more ways than one. With precious little information shared about a new R36 GT-R, we expect that the can Nissan will reveal, for the Japanese market, to be a final farewell edition of the R35 GT-R.

Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition
The 2020 Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition takes the nameplate to a level that was unimaginable when it was first introduced 50 years ago. To celebrate the half-century of the GT-R, engineers challenged themselves to find undiscovered performance potential while still making sure the car can be enjoyed by drivers at any level.
