A High Roof Hyundai Palisade… For South Korea

The Hyundai Palisade has been on a serious roll since it hit our market, and the same is true on the U.S. side of the border. Hyundai has capitalized on that momentum by rolling out fresh variants, from the upscale Calligraphy trim to the off-road-ready XRT Pro. Now South Korea gets something else entirely: a High Roof model that stands apart from anything else in the lineup.

A Roofline That Changes Everything

For its home market, Hyundai has pulled the wraps off a raised-roof Palisade, a first for any utility vehicle the brand builds there. All that extra height went straight into headroom above the cabin, leaving enough room for a rear-seat entertainment setup built around a 21.4-inch display that streams from all the major platforms.

The ceiling also gets ambient lighting designed to mimic the starlight headliners found in some luxury cars, think Mercedes-Benz or Audi.

All told, the Palisade High Roof tops out at 78.9 inches, about an inch taller than a Lincoln Navigator. Despite those dimensions, Hyundai insists the SUV should still clear most underground parking structures without issue.

And if you think you saw that vehicle before, you are not mistaken. Hyundai first showed it in 2025, as a concept, at the Soul Mobility Show.

A Regional Thing

This kind of configuration still has a following in South Korea, where it often serves as transportation for company executives. It’s a safe bet the interior leans into a four-seat layout, with heavily cushioned captain’s chairs in the second row, not unlike what Kia already offers with its Carnival Hi Limousine.

One thing’s for sure: the odds of this Palisade variant ever showing up at a North American dealership are slim. Our market has never shown much appetite for that body style, one once reserved for conversion vans back in the day.

Sure, there was the Volkswagen Westfalia era, but that’s ancient history now.

Still, given how well the standard Palisade is already doing, it’s easy to see why Hyundai wants to chase every angle it can to stand out from the pack.
