A Look at the Exotics You Can See at the 2026 Montreal Auto Show

Year after year, the Montreal Auto Show attracts large numbers of car enthusiasts who want to see the latest models, but also a lot of those who want to see rare and exotic cars that you won’t be likely to spot on local roads.

While Luc Poirier’s impressive collection of Ferraris is not present this year, there are still plenty of exotics to feast your eyes on.

Here are some of the most exclusive and expensive models you will be able to see at this event, which runs from January 16 to the 25th.

 

Aston Martin DBS Volante

As a modern classic, the Aston Martin DBS Volante serves as a tribute to the brand’s era of high-capacity internal combustion grand tourers. It is powered by a 5.2L Twin-Turbo V12 engine producing 715 horsepower and 663 lb-ft of torque, mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. This convertible (called Volante) combines brutal performance with open-air luxury, featuring a fabric roof that opens in 14 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph). The DBS was discontinued in 2024.

 

Bugatti Chiron

The Chiron on display represents the pinnacle of internal combustion performance, powered by an 8.0L Quad-Turbo W16 engine. In its standard configuration, this powertrain generates 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque, while “Super Sport” variants increase output to 1,578 horsepower. It features a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. With a top speed electronically limited to 420 km/h (standard) or 440 km/h (Super Sport), the Chiron serves as a showcase of engineering excess and the final chapter of the W16 engine era.

 

Cadillac V-Series.R

This vehicle is a purpose-built LMDh (Le Mans Daytona h) race car, identical to the prototypes competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.5L DOHC V8 engine paired with a common hybrid system, producing a combined output regulated to approximately 670 horsepower. The design features functional aerodynamics developed by Cadillac Design and Dallara. It serves as a testbed for performance technologies that influence future V-Series road cars.

 

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X

The ZR1X is a high-performance hybrid evolution of the C8 platform. It pairs the “LT7” 5.5L Twin-Turbo flat-plane crank V8 with an electric drive unit on the front axle, creating an electrified all-wheel-drive system. Total system output is rated at 1,250 horsepower, which allows it to be the fastest American production car, thanks to a 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint of only 1.89 seconds. While Corvettes are certainly not as unique as some other vehicles on this list, the ZR1X deserves to be called an exotic car given its level of performance and technical innovations.

 

Eccentrica V12 Pacchetto Titano

The Eccentrica is a “restomod” based on the 1990s Lamborghini Diablo, modernized with contemporary engineering and materials. The “pacchetto Titano” variant features a naturally aspirated 5.7L V12 engine, re-engineered to produce over 542 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. It retains a classic 6-speed manual gated shifter but adds modern safety features, composite body panels, and a completely redesigned interior. The chassis is stiffened and updated with active suspension to improve handling characteristics over the original donor car. This exclusive vehicle can be seen on the stand of the Quadriam Collection.

 

Ferrari 12Cilindri

Replacing the 812 Superfast, the 12Cilindri is a front-mid-engine two-seater GT. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5L V12 engine that revs to 9,500 rpm, delivering 819 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque without forced induction or hybridization. The chassis features four-wheel steering and Side Slip Control 8.0 for enhanced agility. The design draws inspiration from the 365 GTB/4 Daytona, particularly in the black “mask” band across the front fascia. This retro-looking Ferrari accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.

 

Ford Mustang GTD

The Mustang GTD is a street-legal track car developed alongside the Mustang GT3 racer. It features a supercharged 5.2L V8 engine with a dry-sump oil system, targeting over 815 horsepower. Unique engineering includes a rear-mounted 8-speed dual-clutch transaxle for near 50/50 weight distribution and a pushrod rear suspension system visible through a window in the cabin. The body is primarily carbon fiber, and it features active aerodynamics, including a drag reduction system (DRS) on the rear wing. Its price tag of around $400,000 ensures it will remain much more exclusive than any other Mustang model.

 

HWA Evo

The HWA Evo is a modern reinterpretation of the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II. Built by HWA AG (founders of AMG), it utilizes a carbon fiber body and a reinforced chassis. Power comes from a 3.0L Twin-Turbo V6 engine producing 450 horsepower (with an optional 500 hp “Affalterbach” package), mounted behind the front axle for a 50:50 weight distribution. It features a 6-speed manual transaxle and double-wishbone suspension at all corners. Production is strictly limited to 100 units, one of which is on display at the Quadriam Collection stand.

 

Kimera EVO37

At the same kiosk, the Kimera EVO37 is a tribute to the Lancia 037 Group B rally car. It is built on a central chassis structure derived from the Lancia Beta Montecarlo, reinforced with tubular frames. The engine is a 2.1L four-cylinder that utilizes both a turbocharger and a supercharger (twin-charging) to produce 505 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Weighing approximately 1,050 kg, the car remains rear-wheel drive and features a manual transmission. The body panels are constructed entirely from carbon fiber.

 

Lamborghini Revuelto

As Lamborghini’s first “High Performance Electrified Vehicle”, the Revuelto replaces the Aventador. It combines a 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 engine with three electric motors—two on the front axle and one integrated into the new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The total system output is 1,001 horsepower. The carbon fiber “monofuselage” chassis is 10% lighter and 25% stiffer than its predecessor. It offers 13 drive modes, including a fully electric city mode, and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.

 

Lamborghini Temerario

The Temerario succeeds the Huracán, introducing an all-new powertrain. It features a 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 engine with a “hot-vee” configuration that revs to 10,000 rpm. This combustion engine is aided by three electric motors, resulting in a total output of 907 horsepower. The hybrid system allows for torque vectoring on the front axle. It utilizes an aluminum spaceframe chassis and achieves 0-100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. Visually, it adopts hexagonal lighting signatures and increased aerodynamic efficiency compared to the outgoing V10 model.

 

Lotus Emira

The Emira is the final internal combustion sports car from Lotus. This model can be powered by a mid-mounted 3.5L Supercharged V6 engine (Toyota-derived) producing 406 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, or a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers the same 406 horsepower output, but with more torque (354 lb-ft). It is available with a 6-speed manual transmission with a visible gear linkage mechanism. The chassis is bonded aluminum, adhering to Lotus’s lightweight philosophy. It features hydraulic power steering for superior feedback and serves as the bridge between the brand’s petrol history and its electric future.

 

McLaren 750S

The 750S is an evolution of the 720S, with 30% of its components being new or updated. It is powered by a 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 engine generating 740 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Weight reduction measures make it 30 kg lighter than its predecessor, with a dry weight of 1,277 kg. It features the newest generation of McLaren’s Proactive Chassis Control hydraulic suspension system. Performance figures include a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 332 km/h.

 

Mercedes-Maybach SL Monogram Series

This model is the first two-seater from the Maybach brand, based on the Mercedes-AMG SL. It focuses on supreme luxury rather than pure track performance. Power is provided by a 4.0L Biturbo V8 engine producing 577 horsepower. It features extensive sound insulation, a comfort-tuned suspension, and unique “Maybach” pattern imprints on the soft-top roof and hood. Two curated design themes are available: “Red Ambiance” and “White Ambiance,” both featuring bespoke interior materials and chrome exterior accents.

 

Pininfarina Battista

The Battista is a pure-electric hyper GT sharing its powertrain architecture with the Rimac Nevera. It features a 120 kWh T-shaped battery pack and four independent electric motors (one for each wheel). The system produces 1,900 horsepower and 1,726 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a 0-100 km/h time of under 1.9 seconds. It is the most powerful road-legal car ever to come out of Italy. The design emphasizes aerodynamics and bespoke customization, with a luxurious cabin tailored for grand touring.

 

Rolls-Royce Phantom

The Phantom Series II retains its position as the marque’s flagship saloon. It is powered by a 6.75L Twin-Turbo V12 engine delivering 563 horsepower, tuned for silence and effortless torque rather than all-out speed. The “Series II” update introduces subtle visual changes, including a new illuminated Pantheon grille and laser-cut starlight headlights. It features the “Gallery,” a glass-enclosed space in the dashboard for displaying bespoke artwork. The “Magic Carpet Ride” suspension uses camera systems to scan the road ahead and adjust dampers proactively. Two of these limousines are present on the Quadriam Collection stand.
