Abt Sportsline has a long history of building and customizing some of the most extreme, powerful, and luxurious Audi vehicles. The company, which was founded in 1898 by Johann Abt, was originally a blacksmith’s workshop. To commemorate the anniversary and the founder, Abt transforms an Audi RS 6 into a hyper-fast work of art.
Above all, Abt makes ultra-high-performance cars and the Johann Abt Signature Edition is no different. Its twin-turbo V8 produces 800 horsepower and 722 lb.-ft. of torque which is enough to launch the RS 6 to 100km/h in only 2.91 seconds on its way to a top speed of 330 km/h. The power boost comes from new in-house developed turbos, upgraded ECU, new intercoolers, and additional oil cooling.
The RS 6’s bodywork is enhanced by numerous red carbon aerodynamic accents which are functional as they provide an extra 150kg of downforce at speed. The 22-inch forged wheels are unique and save up to 3.5kg of unsprung weight per corner. Each car will also come with a fragment of the original anvil from 1896.
“The successor to our sold-out Abt RS6-R one-of-125 is defined not only by the connection to our history and the myriad attractive details; its performance, which was measured on the high-speed track at Papenburg, is revolutionary,” said company CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt, as reported by Autocar.
Abt Sportsline will produce six cars per month for a total of 64, all of which are spoken for.
